Zelenskyy Says Strikes Cripple Russian Fuel Network
Writing on Telegram, Zelenskyy claimed Ukrainian forces now have the capability to target Russian logistics routes across nearly all occupied areas of Ukraine, increasing operational challenges for Russian troops.
He argued that the impact is becoming increasingly visible in southern and eastern regions under Russian control, citing reports of fuel shortages in Crimea and other occupied territories. According to Zelenskyy, there are “practically no safe roads left” in those areas due to sustained Ukrainian attacks.
“The plan of our long-range sanctions is being implemented step by step,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian leader stated that Kyiv's forces carried out strikes on 15 Russian oil refineries between January and May. He further claimed that nearly 40% of Russia’s primary oil-refining capacity had been taken offline by May as a result of the campaign.
Zelenskyy also asserted that Russia has imposed export restrictions on aviation fuel and gasoline while considering additional limits on diesel exports, signaling growing strain on the country's energy sector.
Russian authorities have not publicly responded to Zelenskyy’s latest assertions regarding damage to oil infrastructure, refining capacity, or military logistics networks.
