Iran National Team Begins US Visa Process Ahead of 2026 World Cup
The tournament is scheduled to take place jointly across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026. As part of their preparations, members of the Iranian squad traveled to the US Embassy in Türkiye’s capital to complete the required visa formalities.
After completing their embassy visit, players were seen leaving the building, with media reports noting lighthearted reactions when asked about the status of their applications.
The team has been conducting a training camp in Antalya, a coastal city in Türkiye, since mid-May as part of its buildup to the tournament.
Officials from the Iranian Football Federation, including first vice president Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, stated earlier that the delegation would travel to Ankara to process both US and Canadian visa requirements for players and staff.
He also indicated that several players based outside Iran are expected to join the squad during this administrative and preparatory phase.
