German Media Publishes Images of Alleged Nord Stream Case Suspect

(MENAFN) German tabloid Bild has released nude photographs of a Ukrainian woman who is reportedly linked by investigators to the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline sabotage, according to media reports.

As stated by reports, the woman is believed to have been part of a group of Ukrainian nationals under investigation in Germany for allegedly renting the sailing yacht *Andromeda*, which was reportedly used in the underwater operation targeting the pipelines.

Earlier claims about her background were referenced in reporting by *The Wall Street Journal*, with its chief European political correspondent Bojan Pancevski citing information from his book on the Nord Stream incident. His account is said to draw partly on interviews with individuals allegedly connected to the investigation.

The images published by *Bild* reportedly show the woman—identified in some reports under the alias “Freya”—including photographs from an erotic magazine cover dated 2004 as well as another image of her seated on a sofa. In both cases, her face was obscured.

Her real identity has been reported elsewhere as Valeria Chernyshova, though this has not been officially confirmed in connection with the case.

Russian officials have previously questioned Western media coverage of the investigation, arguing that some narratives attempt to shift blame toward individual Ukrainian suspects for what Moscow describes as an act of terrorism, which it suggests may have involved broader Western or NATO involvement.
