Kuwait Faces Partial Power Outages as Shrapnel Downs Seven Lines
The disruptions triggered partial electricity outages in several regions, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy disclosed in an official statement published on X, the US-owned social media platform, citing ministry spokeswoman Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat.
The ministry confirmed that restoration efforts are actively underway, with specialized technical crews on standby to mobilize the moment affected sites are declared secure — a process being coordinated directly with security authorities. Once cleared, teams will conduct full damage assessments and carry out repairs in strict compliance with the highest safety and security protocols, the ministry stated.
Jawhar Hayat stressed that emergency response units remain fully operational and are actively monitoring the electrical grid to prevent further service interruptions.
She also issued a public advisory, calling on both Kuwaiti citizens and residents to exercise caution regarding unverified information circulating online, urging reliance exclusively on official government channels.
Jawhar Hayat pledged that authorities would continue issuing updates in step with developments on the ground.
