Technical Malfunction Forces Air France Plane to Land in Germany

(MENAFN) An Air France aircraft en route from Beirut to Paris executed an unscheduled landing at Munich Airport on Sunday evening following reports of a technical malfunction, according to local outlets.

The jetliner broadcast a general emergency signal while cruising at 40,000 feet above Germany's southern region, prompting the crew to abandon its Paris destination and redirect to Munich, a German publication reported.

Munich Airport spokesperson Robert Wilhelm confirmed the incident unfolded without requiring airport emergency response teams.

"The Air France plane made a safe emergency landing on the southern runway at 8.19 pm. No intervention was required from the airport, and all passengers were able to disembark safely," Wilhelm told the newspaper.

The nature of the technical issue that triggered the emergency diversion remains unspecified. All individuals aboard evacuated the aircraft without incident.
